Journey - Revelations

I just picked up this 3 disc set and man, it rock's in classic Journey fashion! The new singer, Arnel Pineda, is an excellent singer and would this album had been released in Journey's heyday, it would have been a huge success. It's actually too bad that their time has come and gone (even though I still enjoy them, the majority of today's youth know nothing about them, or how good they've been through out the years). For you out there that know of Journey, get this, it's definately worth it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

Well, the holidays pretty much took me away from keeping up on my blog, so I will try to catch up on the highlights for now.

In Pinmasters, we, Outcasts, ended up on 6th place for the first half of the season. Our rivals, Split Happens is in 9th and th Shanks are in 14th out of 17 places. We done good...

I lost last week in my FF Paladins league so and mired in the Final 4 finish. At least I made it there! 12 team leagues are tough... In my Freaks and Geeks league I am in the final and have a strong chance to win the title as the number 1 seed got knocked off last week in a total upset! Right now I am predicted to win 150-118. We'll see...

The holidays are upon us like I said earlier so I would like to extend a very warm happy holidays and a joyous and safe new year to everyone!

I finally broke down and sold my flying V and am going to sell my ESP LTD soon (NOT the Phoenix) so I could buy -- this (artist rendition - not the actual guitar)... The 'Fender' Stormbringer.



I have the majority of the parts planned and/or on their way. The specs are:
Body: stratocaster, flamed maple cap on swamp ash, body contours, finished in bengal burst
Neck: canary fretboard on canary neck, reverse CBS headstock, no fret markers, skull and crossbones at the 12th
Pickups: EMG SA active pickups in black
Tremelo: Gotoh Wilkinson in black
Tuners: Schaller mini locking tuners in black

Mobile Bayfest

Well, we did the Mobile Bayfest 2007 and it was a lot of fun. Friday was a real great night as we saw Alice in Chains and Velvet Revolver. Both were really great shows! On Saturday we held off until later in the day to head over. We got to see Blue Oyster Cult and they put on their typical show, it wasn't bad. Then it decided to pour on us and we got totally drenched, so we headed back to the hotel and had to miss Bad Company and Daughtry as they wouldn't let people back in after 8 PM. That was a bit of a bummer, but overall we had a great time, but glad to be home :)... I have a few pictures (taken with my cell phone as once again I was unprepared and paranoid that they would take a camera if we brought it in) that I will post shortly...

Mobile Bayfest 2007

Diana and I are headed to the Mobile Bayfest this weekend (http://www.bayfest.com/) and it should turn out to be a lot of fun. It is our anniversary weekend (October 7th) so we are celebrating that. We are planning to see the following bands there:

Drum Tracks - 2

Well, we pulled off the drum tracks for Shoot Shoot and Doctor Doctor. All went very well and right as planned. I really like the RØDE overheads I have, they have really nice sizzle to them. Equally impressed with the set of Audix i5s and the D6 I have as well. Overall, things went superb. I am so looking forward to the next few pieces as we lay down the rest of the rythym, guitars and vocals. We are talking about working on some originals soon as well, I should sit down and scratch out some more of the things I have to offer. Maybe I will plan all of them out while at Robins next week.

Queensryche - Mindcrime at the Moore

I just received this DVD from the guys in QR and WOW, it is a great DVD. They did a fabulous show last year for the Fan Club. This DVD is highly recommended if you are a QR fan! Mike Stone has come a long way since their last DVD and actually does Chris DeGarmo's parts of Mindcrime I very well.
