3 Tynes a charm...

Well well well, Mr Tynes from the New York Giants put one through to put the Giants into Superbowl 42... After missing 2 previous attempts, he pulled it out in OT. Way to go for them (I was rooting for Brett Favre). Now it's New England (Hatriots) against the Giants. Go Eli!

2007 Freaks and Geeks Champion

After a tight final, I managed to take the Championship in my Freaks and Geeks league, 176-143. That's 2 Championships in 3 years (2005 and 2007). Congrats to all and sorry Paladins, your team peaked way too early (he was 11-0 before he lost a game and ended up 12-2 and in 4th place in the end).

November 25-30, 2007

Personal: Just curious if anyone ever reads this? I am always on the look out for people I have know in the past, so if you come across this blog, shoot me an email...

Fantasy Football: Brought out my "Whoopin' Stick"… I devastated the only remaining undefeated team in my Freaks and Geeks league (he has Brady and Moss). Going into his Sunday night New England game I was up over 140 points (not totally out of the realm of possibilities - especially in light of how well those two have played this year - but a tough call none the less). When all was said and done, I won 243.60 - 162.19 to keep me solidly in 2nd place as well as winning my 3rd Viagra High Score award. Wee haw!

In my Paladin league I also won to keep my team #1 going into the playoffs with a 10-2 record so far.

On a side note - it's pretty F'd up that Sean Taylor (Redskins Safety) was killed. He was a good young star. RIP...

Pinmasters Bowling: Sadness in our league. We found out that
Gary Alan Hutcheson, the Pro Shop guy passed away after an accident over the weekend. He was a very nice guy and will be missed a great deal. It'll put a very somber mood over the lanes on Tuesday. Rest well Gary…

Well, it was a very quiet night at the lanes… We played the league President and Vice Presidents team. Started real well, winning the first game by a decent margin. But as it would be, they stormed back to kill us in game 2 and then we barely lost game 3, which had us end up losing 3-4. The only real consolation is the fact that our rivalries lost as well, so while we didn't gain any ground on them, we didn't lose any either. Only 3 weeks left for this half of the season. Right now we are in 7th place.

Professionally Speaking: Got my EC Tech Pros site starting to happen (http://www.ectechpros.com/) and slowly take shape.

Bitches and Gripes: Man am I tired of Christmas already! They started playing TV commercials and holiday music in stores about 3 weeks ago. In fact, we saw that the Grinch was on the weekend before Thanksgiving. What the hell is all that about? At what point do we decide it's too early. We have totally lost the meaning of Christmas, or any holiday for that matter...

FF Week 9

Great week for FF, I won both my important leagues (Paladin & Freaks and Geeks), pushing my records to 8-1 and 6-3 respectively (1st and 2nd in leagues). I had a couple of key players (Santonio Holmes, Joseph Addai, and Marshawn Lynch) come up real BIG. In Paladins, I have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way and our leader in F&G faces a very tough opponent this week (Brunggers Bucs) without the aid of his Pats players. I won all my other leagues except for 1 keeping me in the race for the playoffs.

FF Week 8

Ah yes... 'Twas another week in FF. Did well in the Paladin league having won 100-62 to push me to 7-1 overall. In my Freaks and Geeks league, I got beat (barely) by a friend of mine who happened to have Addai and he put up very nice numbers. I am still 5-3 and in 2nd place in that league. My other leagues I won all but 1 and am in the playoff hunt in all of them, so all is good.

FF Week 6

Wow, what a FF week it was... My $ league (Paladin) saw me eek out a win 87-84 to stay undefeated (6-0) and remain the only undefeated team. I have a tough contest this week and should I win that, there is a chance to go undefeated all the way. Keep your fingers crossed! In my Freaks and Geeks league, I was down until Monday night when my 3 remaining players brought me a victory and push me to 4-2 and solid second place. Last week was tough for that team as I had to sit Peyton, Marvin, Dallas Clark, and Santonio Holmes. Having them back this week will be much appreciated. I had picked up Jason Wright (in for an injured Jamal Lewis) that helped me out a lot. Thanks Yahoo Fantasy Football guys on their live broadcasts Sunday morning...

FF Week 5

Well, I won 4 out of 6 this week - including staying undefeated un my $$ league (Paladin 2007). 3 of my Yahoo teams took Viagra awards and barely lost in my Freaks and Geeks league. In fact, I probably should have won if it weren't for a technicality in scoring that allowed my opponents D to outscore mine 3:1, even though my D way outplayed theirs. It came down to return yardage and that league is skewed real bad towards return yards vs. actually playing good defense (case in point, my D gave up less points, had 4 more turnovers, and the same sacks - but was outscored because of a 200 yds return vs. 90 yds return). Bah... At least I am still in the money, heh...

Hurricane Predictions

OK, so the government releases "new" predictions for the 2007 hurricane season last week. They lowered their predictions. WOW, what a suprise! I bet that research cost millions of dollars and any of us could have made the very same prediction. Let's see, we are half way through the season (almost) and there has been little to no activity. Who couldn't say that there are more than likely going to be fewer hurricanes than initially projected. It amazes me that we have high paid people in place to make these decisions, when in fact, it is an obvious prediction. Oh well, we let it happen so who are we to whine about the expenses needed to make these astute observations. Just my 2 cents...
