FF Week 8

Ah yes... 'Twas another week in FF. Did well in the Paladin league having won 100-62 to push me to 7-1 overall. In my Freaks and Geeks league, I got beat (barely) by a friend of mine who happened to have Addai and he put up very nice numbers. I am still 5-3 and in 2nd place in that league. My other leagues I won all but 1 and am in the playoff hunt in all of them, so all is good.

FF Week 7

Well, all good thing do come to an end... My undefeated season is no more, I had a couple of players NOT live up to their contractual obligations (heh) and let me down on my $$$ league (Paladin), so now I am 6-1 and still firmly locked into first place. And if it weren't for my opponent having Tom Brady and his 6 TD's, I would have pulled it out even with the lack of points by some of my players. In my Freaks and Geeks I had a strong showing, having picked up Kenny Watson (filling in for Rudi Johnson) and he had a huge day. So in the league I am 5-2 and firmly in second place. Trying to make a trade for Addai right now, which would help my cause for sure... In my other 5 leagues, I won all but 1 and pretty much in the thick of things and in place for a playoff berth in all of them. So far this season has been decent albeit pretty weird with all of the injuries to key players.

Bush and WWIII

Does anyone else get scared when Bush mentions World War III? He literally scares the hell out of me and what he may pull as he leaves office. I see him doing a 'last hurrah' on his way out and stirring up some shit with Iran and/or Syria. And now that Russia has become involved I can see it getting real ugly real quick. In light of all this, we may not have to worry about things like Global Warming much at all. Very sad...

SuiteDreams Framework

Wow... It looks like I am currently getting betrayed by my own company! People who know me, know that I have been involved in Framework Architecture for almost 10 years. In fact, my lineage of framework design goes back to AT&T Wireless and my Cheyenne Mountain framework in 1997, through GroundControl (in PHP) in 2000, The Phoenix Application Framework in 2003, and now my SuiteDreams Framework. Well, today there was a huge meeting at work about 'this' framework, and lo and behold, I wasn't invited (even though I am the ONLY one who knows anything about it) and it could very well be possible that someone else is stealing my thunder. Nice... And from a company that speaks so much of 'ethics'. I can only hope that as I travel from this Division to another, that the next might be more considerate and truly 'ethical'. This does really infuriate me... This should be interesting to see how it works out...

Hawaii in the future?

Just to not catch anyone off guard, there is an excellent chance that I may be relocating to Hawaii in the future. I have started the process of preparing my 2 cats (Shelby and Jewels) for the Direct Release Program (meaning I can take them from the airport directly and they won't have to do quarantine). They only need their KSU rabies blood test still and 120 days from that date I can bring them in. I am so glad that Hawaii has eased their quarantine laws. Anyone who knows me, knows I would have tried to go back there a long time ago had their quarantine laws allowed for the direct release. Anyways, it is looking to be about March or so when we could possibly make the jump to the islands. I am SO looking forward to living there again. In fact, I have told Diana to push me to to one of the things I always wanted to do, be a surf photographer. So if and when we get there I plan to start taking a bigger interest in photography, in particular surf photography. Stand by on this one!

FF Week 6

Wow, what a FF week it was... My $ league (Paladin) saw me eek out a win 87-84 to stay undefeated (6-0) and remain the only undefeated team. I have a tough contest this week and should I win that, there is a chance to go undefeated all the way. Keep your fingers crossed! In my Freaks and Geeks league, I was down until Monday night when my 3 remaining players brought me a victory and push me to 4-2 and solid second place. Last week was tough for that team as I had to sit Peyton, Marvin, Dallas Clark, and Santonio Holmes. Having them back this week will be much appreciated. I had picked up Jason Wright (in for an injured Jamal Lewis) that helped me out a lot. Thanks Yahoo Fantasy Football guys on their live broadcasts Sunday morning...

FF Week 5

Well, I won 4 out of 6 this week - including staying undefeated un my $$ league (Paladin 2007). 3 of my Yahoo teams took Viagra awards and barely lost in my Freaks and Geeks league. In fact, I probably should have won if it weren't for a technicality in scoring that allowed my opponents D to outscore mine 3:1, even though my D way outplayed theirs. It came down to return yardage and that league is skewed real bad towards return yards vs. actually playing good defense (case in point, my D gave up less points, had 4 more turnovers, and the same sacks - but was outscored because of a 200 yds return vs. 90 yds return). Bah... At least I am still in the money, heh...

As promised, here are a couple of pictures of Velvet Revolver at the Bayfest show...

Mobile Bayfest

Well, we did the Mobile Bayfest 2007 and it was a lot of fun. Friday was a real great night as we saw Alice in Chains and Velvet Revolver. Both were really great shows! On Saturday we held off until later in the day to head over. We got to see Blue Oyster Cult and they put on their typical show, it wasn't bad. Then it decided to pour on us and we got totally drenched, so we headed back to the hotel and had to miss Bad Company and Daughtry as they wouldn't let people back in after 8 PM. That was a bit of a bummer, but overall we had a great time, but glad to be home :)... I have a few pictures (taken with my cell phone as once again I was unprepared and paranoid that they would take a camera if we brought it in) that I will post shortly...

Framework Deployment

Well, the MSI installers for our Framework and Modules is obviously not 100% together. Initial deployment was fine, but the Module hung on placing the DLLs into the Framework bin. Working on that now. Other than that, the project as a whole has worked out very well.

Lords of Rhom

I started creating a new game, called Lords of Rhom. It is a RPG type game played in the old school D&D way, but minus the paper and pencil. Everything is done via a web interface and the Game Master is an artificial intelligence creating adventures for characters. Might turn out to be very cool when done. Long ways to go still, but hoping for a January 1 release (Beta).

FF Week 4

My teams did great this week, won in both the $ league (Paladin 2007) and Freaks and Geeks. Still undefeated in Paladin (4-0) and now 3-1 in F&G. Won a second Viagra award for high score in F&G...

SDF Deployment

Well, we are deploying the first instance of the SuiteDreams Framework tomorrow, to support some DoD functionality. I am really hoping to roll it out via MSI installers. Will let you know what happens...
